MAGIC PIE
MAGIC PIE began to take shape during the autumn of 2001. The members came from a wide range of musical backgrounds, with projects of different genres.

The band started playing cover-covers together with a some of their material. After joking with the covers for a while, suggestions were made to cut them completely and write their material. This turned out to be an important turning point and really brought the band into work mode.

In the period 2001 – 2004 the intent of the band was to create a “progressive” sound texture in the spirit of the 70s, and to blend the musical tendencies of the time and the modern progressive scene of today.

The debut album “Motions Of Desire” was released in 2005 and was very well received by both the public and the press, with its blend of classic prog, hard rock of the 70s and progressive metal. Followed by “Circus of life”, concept album, considered in various surveys as “album of the year” 2007. In 2011, they publish “The Suffering Joy”, another concept album, a further big step forward, the first « “radical” change in the musical expression that introduced Eirikur Hauksson (Artch, Ken Hensley) as a new singer – replacing Allan Olsen. The talented Icelandic / Norwegian singer gave to the band a much needed frontman and the album showed a Magic Pie more mature and cohesive.

The fourth album “King For A Day” was released in 2015 by the new label Karisma Records. The album was mixed and mastered by Rich Mouser (Neal Morse, Transatlantic, Spock’s Beard) to ensure that the songs and the overall sound reach their full potential.

The main objective for 2018 is the production and release of the 5th album. But, as they write on their web site “However; in September we will participate in the 2Days Prog + 1 festival in Veruno in Italy and in February 2019, at Cruise to the Edge (USA / Mexico).
