WOBBLER
Formed in Hønefoss in 1999 and nurturing a burning desire to create, or perhaps recreate, some of the musical expressions of the early 70s, WOBBLER has grown to become one of Norway’s leading symphonic progressive rock bands with a large following, not only in Scandinavia, but also throughout Europe and North America.
WOBBLER’s use of both vintage and modern instruments allows the band to compose and play music that is multi-flavored, adventurous and enigmatic, guitar riffs can easily transform into yearning melodies, while melancholic and harmonious lines can give way to powerful crescendos. Is that a spinet you hear in their music? And the odd touch of flamenco and Italian recital? Yes!
With three albums under their belt and extensive stage experience in Europe and North America, WOBBLER signed with Norway’s Karisma Records in 2017 for the release of their fourth full-‐length album “From Silence to Somewhere” in October of the same year. The reviews exceeded all expectations of the band themselves! With the release of their fifth album Dwellers of the Deep in 2020, WOBBLER cemented their status as one of the most interesting and diverse progressive rock bands working today. More avant-‐garde than their previous works, this album also received rave reviews.
The lineup features current and former members of bands such as TUSMØRKE, WHITE WILLOW, THE CHRONICLES OF FATHER ROBIN and THE BJØRN RIIS BAND, making it the best of today’s Norwegian bands, bringing together their experience and an impressive array of instruments.
